Legal Question in Workers Comp in Florida

Lost wages due to work related injury

I was injured on the job and after taking care of my medical needs, I asked my employer if I would be paid anything in regards to my lost wages. I was told no. I'm trying to find out if this is legal. I was under the impresstion that most if not all states have a law stating that the injured employee would be paid 66% of there wages during the time they are unable to work after the initial 7 days.
