Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Georgia

A driver/salesman for MacTools is threatening to take me to court under "theft by taking". I owe him approximately $148.00 and he said that if I don't pay him the full amount or give him the tools back within 10 days, he's going to get a warrant out for me and claims I will be responsible for court costs, ect. Last time I spoke to him, I explained my situation and said I would pay him when I had the money and he said that was okay and to contact him when I had the money. The letter sent to me is a demand of payment letter and it states that I also owe $6.50 for the cost of the letter. The letter is typed up as if the company sent it but it wasn't. It was typed up and sent by the driver. I refuse to pay the money for the letter when he has my phone number and email address. I won't have the money in 10 days yet I would like to keep the tools I have acquired and already paid approximately $200 for them. What would be the best route for me to take. I have not contacted him yet on the situation. I'd like to receive legal advice before moving further.

If you cannot pay the debt as you agreed when you made the purchase, then return some of the tools for credit. You owe the money, so do what it takes to resolve the situation. That will stop the letters, emails and calls from him.
