Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

Unsatisfied customer

Recently, I had my car fixed by a mechanic and 24 hours later, my car broke down. I put stop payment on the check and told mechanic I would pay partial payment. He wants the full payment or says that he will put a warrant out for our arrest. Is that legal?

Re: Unsatisfied customer

We do not know the terms of the repair agreement or warranty (if any), or the nature of the problems, so we can't guess how they are all related. However, yes, stopping payment on a check can, in some cases, be considered the same as writing a bad check in the first place. It is often not the most responsible way to handle a dispute.
