Legal Question in Consumer Law in Georgia

Vacation Bait & Switch

I was referred to a vacation community by a friend. Said it was a beautiful place to vacation. Upon booking my vacation, I booked two 2 bedroom flats for my family, gave them my credit card information and put down the 50% deposit they required. I received a confirmation, showing the 50% deposit I put down as well as my balance for the week. Yesterday I received an email stating I owe an additional $1400 which is considerably more than my confirmation is showing I owe. I contacted the property, they said they had a computer glitch and I do in fact owe the additional amount. I told them I booked the rooms on ''good faith'' made the deposit they required and I expect them to honor the price I was quoted. They offered to give me a discounted rate which is still considerable more than the rate I was quoted. I entered into this contract and I do have a contract in ''good faith'' and now they are trying to charge me more than my confirmation is saying I owe. Do I have any recourse?

Re: Vacation Bait & Switch

Where or not you have a binding contract can't be determined from your post. Review the terms and conditions on the website, or from your reservation. More often than not, they contain provisions governing such situations. Moreover, if it really was a mistake or "glitch," it is not "bait and switch." Notably, you leave out important information. You state what the confirmation stated, but now what the site stated before you made the reservation.
