Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

I have a $5K hospital bill and have been making $100.00 monthly payments. The hospital wanted $200 month but I cannot afford to pay that. Can they garnish my check for this debt in the State of Georgia?

Hospitals have no obligation to accept installments, and, frankly, they employ bullies in their collections departments that make Ebeneezer Scrooge look like a nice man. While yes they could sue you and do a garnishment, it's unlikely if you are making payments that size. If you have other debts you may want to see if you can just wipe things out in bankruptcy (see a lawyer for that).
