Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Georgia

I gave $100 to an individual to pay Parole fees under the impression I was to be paid back. I haven't gotten my money back but have recovered written confirmation from said Individual that they already had the money necessary and essentially stole my money for personal use with future intent of paying me back. How should I pursue this in court?

Why is this a debt collection issue since you are accusing the defendant of theft? Sounds like criminal law to me. I would chalk this up to a lesson learned experience of you being naive enough to loan money to a criminal. However, since the person is already on parole, why don't you have a chat with the parole officer? I am sure the parole officer would love to have something to write the accused up for. I am fairly certain that stealing money from others would be a violation of the terms of parole.
