Can a repo agency charge me for my personal belongings that are in the vehicle and did they break the law by trespassing on posted property

I will answer the second question first. Now think about this - no repossessions would ever occur if it was that simple to simply post one's property as "no trespassing." Most states provide for "self-help" repossession. What this means is that if the repo man finds a vehicle or other secured property, it can be repossessed if the repossession can take place without a breach of the peace or violence. So it is not illegal for the repo company to enter private property.

The repo company may be able to charge for the items. However, they cannot keep your property and if they will not release it, then see a consumer lawyer. You may be able to get the vehicle back if you file bankruptcy. But you have to act quickly.
