Legal Question in Criminal Law in Georgia

I have court in 3 weeks for theft by shoplifting at Walmart in Georgia. I had a buggy of things like food and household goods. I stuck what would fit in my purse and paid for the rest, but when I was leaving a cop stopped me and pulled me into a room where they took my picture, I signed a paper, and they arrested me and I bonded out the same night. The total was between 100$-150$. The only other thing on my record is driving on a suspended license. Ive been in contact and met with a recruiter because I plan to enlist in the army once I take care of this. I'm 19, and at the time I was going through a really bad time in my life, around people I shouldn't have been around, drugs, and worked as a stripper. Ive recently cleaned my life up and moved back home with my parents. I have a decent family and don't want this to haunt me for the rest of my life. How should I plea? Should I tell the judge all of this? Please somebody what do I do?
