Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Georgia

Rights to Rearrange Music on CD

A local female duo has recorded a CD and used a local artist to do the music. Most of the lyrics was written by one of the females with help from the musician who did the music and help to assist in the arrangement of the song. Now, they have a new manager (that knows absolutely nothing about music business)that wants me to do the music of this CD over(because he doesn't like the music that's on their CD) so they can do concerts without paying for a live musician. I do not want to do the recording over, I feel they should ask the one who recorded the music for a master copy of the instrumental music of their songs; and I need a legal way to tell them ''No, I can't do the music over!''

Please help!

Your question is really beyond the scope of the board. You are basically asking to concoct a legal analysis based upon minimal facts, so you can avoid telling someone "no." That is a personal issue - not a legal issue.

Why do you think you need a "legal reason?" "No" is sufficient unless you're bound by some contract to do the recording again.
