Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Adult Child

RE: order# 310537

I downloaded the form for ''will'' married with minor child. We also have adult children. There were no option for a form with both. Can you tell me wording to include in my will and to place in what section for the adult child. (I do not want to leave this adult child any inheritance.)

Thank you,

Tracy

Re: Adult Child

I don't know what "form" you downloaded, but there is no standard Georgia will form, and if you have minor children it is crucial that your will be perfect. Most online forms are less than perfect, and unless you know how to adapt and change them, you could create a mess.

It is very inexpensive to have a will drawn properly. We generally charge $250 for a couple, including a consulttaion that will cover other estate planning needs.

Proper language is needed to create an easy to administer trust arrangement for your minor children, and also to properly designate guardians.

If you'd like our assistance, you'll find a worksheet at www.glenashman.com that you can print and complete and then we'd be glad to discuss it with you.

In the event you do decide to do this pro se, you still should pay a lawyer to review what you wrote and be sure it is in proper form.

I can't give you advice about the legality of forms that you get either from the Net or from a local bookstore. You should consult with a local attorney to discuss your situation. It's cheap and could save your heirs lots in the long run.
