Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Change of venue

I spent $ 9000 trying to get my venue changed from FL to GA where my children and I have lived for 7 years. Due to a procedural error by my attorney provided by a 4 page decision by the judge, I am starting at square one. I also don't have an attorney as she accepted $2000 cash and then wanted another $ 2500.

I have filed to domesticate a certified/registered copy of the FL divorce decree. I am waiting for a court date, but am at a loss as to preparing for it.

The father's fight is only that we divorced in FL and he lives in FL. GA CSE is in charge of the $ 23000 arrearage, we meet the minimum requirements for this change in accordance with UCCJEA. PLEASE HELP!!!

What do I do now?

Re: Change of venue

It is impossible to explain in this type of forum how to prepare for the upcoming hearing. You should consult with a local attorney. You are probably only going to get one shot at this and I don't think you want to mess it up.
