Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

child support 1 child

the judge based my support at $4.00 more on the hour than i actually make. The reason he say is because i once made that amount per hour,so i am capeable of making the amount again? i think we are all capeable of hitting the lotto too! my attorney at the time of hearing is no longer representing me. I am out of work now drawing unemployment due to economy just looked over the childsupport worksheet the attorney did for 9mths. ago, he figured the support at a $1.00 more than the judge making a total of $5.00 more on the hr. what can and should i do? now the unemployment isnt even half of the 4.00 less i was really making.

Unless you get the order modified, you are stuck with it. Consult with a local attorney.

if it was an initial order you may be able to modify, if it was modification..you will need to seek council to decipher which applies to you...
