Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Hello I currently live with my boyfriend and we hact lived together for 6 years .we are now separating. We were told by a police officer that what ever he sells I would get half or part of the profit he makes. We both still live in the home and he is selling everything and started doing that with out my knowledge . Is what the officer told us correct ?

No. The officer committed a serious crime in attempting togive legal advice without a law license. This is especially bad because he is wrong, and he should be reported to his chief. Georgia has a statute and several supreme court cases tar make it clear that when two parties choose not to get married, they have none of the legal rights a married couple has. If he sells something that clearly is owned solely by you, you MAY have a remedy for that. The rest of what you were told was garbage. Now that you posted this on the internet here, he (your boyfriend) can see this answer too.
