Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

I have been married since 2002 and me and my wife have not lived together since march of 2008. Ok she told me to do her taxes for this year and now she says shes gonna get me in trouble? We are still married and have no legal seperation or divorce? Can she get me in trouble? And also I have took care of my son all last year and he has lived with me who has the right to claim him on their taxes and if I do claim him what kind of problems can arise?

More information is needed. Are you a tax preparer? Did she sign the tax return? Was there an agreement regarding who would claim your son? Did you provide support for your son during that tax year? How did she say she was going to get you in trouble?

What you should do is to schedule a meeting with a CPA to discuss the return in question and how to handle it from this point forward.

Moreover, if you've lived apart this long, you may also want to think about filing for divorce. In the child support provision, the issue regarding who should claim your son would be resolved by the court.
