Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

Can I move out into an apartment with a friend of mine if I'm seventeen without being emancipated? I have two jobs and make more than enough for rent, food, expenses, etc. I go to high school and would continue going. My mom says I can't move out even if they don't care because she and my father could be liable and they can get arrested or my sister will be taken away etc. is this true?

No you can't (until you are 18) absent you obtaining a court order. Be aware part of the outcome of this will be that your friend will be arrested and jailed for interference with custody.

You are not considered a legal adult until you are 18.
