Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Georgia

My wife is a guarantor on a nursing home contract for her father. He was evicted after 22 days there. On the day that he was evicted he was forced to sign a contract for repayment of the entire bill. His contract for repayment is seperate from his original residence contract which stipulated medicaid approval/application for his residence there. My question is this - does his new contract for repayment release my wife as guarantor on the original contract?

Probably not, but no one who has not read the original contract could possibly know. I can't fathom why your wife would have ever cosigned, as any lawyer would have warned her against it, but I suspect she has a problem now and should see a lawyer to determine how bad the problem is.
