Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

I recently signed a lease and was given keys to the premises. I addition, I transferred my utilities to the new address. However, when I arrived with the movers the locks had been changed, and I was refused access to the premises by the landlord. When the lease was signed I paid the rent and deposit by check, and the landlord has not presented my check to the bank for payment. He has simply decided not to rent to me, and I do not know why. The funds are available for the check. Nonetheless, He accepted the check and signed the lease and gave me the keys. I live in Georgia.

First, get a new place or a temporary place. Do you really want to lease from this person now? Keep notes, take pictures and make a record. How did the landlord convey to you that he changed his mind? When you find a place, take your lease and records to a lawyer to see about a lawsuit for all of your damages.
