Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Executrix needs information about legal procedure for disposing of real estate i

I am the executrix of a relative's will. First,I need to dispose of two properties -both willed to the same person and, then second, to end my executorship. What steps should i take to accomplish both? Can I transfer the properties with a quick claim deed? This is a clear will with no disagreements or problems.

Re: Executrix needs information about legal procedure for disposing of real esta

Generally speaking, you will need to: probate the will; obtain letters testamentary; publish a statutory notice to creditors; pay any debts and expenses of the estate; and then, execute Executor's Deeds transferring the property to the appropriate beneficiaries. Thereafter, you may file a petition for discharge.

Depending on the particular circumstances, it is possible you may be able to use the "no administration necessary" or "years' support" process to accomplish your goal.

Let me know if I can be of assistance.
