Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia

My wife works in Ga and had an accident at her work and broke her arm. When she requested to return to work the firm informed her that they had eliminated her position and 52 weeks unemployment was available. can the firm do this?

The short answer is that yes, they can terminate your wife. It happens all the time. You need to know that she cannot collect unemployment and workers' comp weekly checks at the same time.
