Legal Question in Immigration Law in Hawaii

US immigrant RN to work in Canada

I am desperately looking for ways on how to get my fiance from the Philippines. I am working as an RN and can only apply for US citizenship after 4 more years. I am wondering if it would be easier for me to be with my husband-to-be if we get married and I'll petition him from Canada? Is it possible to maintain my permanent residency here in the US while I work in Canada? Is there another way for us to be together other than waiting for my citizenship or for a spouse petition?

Re: US immigrant RN to work in Canada

Well, depending on your fiancee's background, he might be eligible for H-1B visa if you can help him to find the right job in the US. It will take care of the problem. I need to know a lot more before prescribing right medication. Send me a detail email. Alternatively, you can obtain 2-year reentry permit and hang around in Canada but it will delay your citizenship status. Have a nice day.
