Legal Question in Business Law in Illinois

Garbage Disposal Contract

After 5 years, a new company took over my garbage disposal account. 2 mo's after the change I called to cancel and was told that I had a contract with the old carrier and it was binding on the successor or assigns of both of us. They sent my a copy of the original contract which was signed by an hourly employee an the location when the dumpster was first delivered. The contract also says the for purposes of this agreement the services are provided by the original carrier. I told them that since they are not the original carrier the contract is void. They disagree and are refusing to remove the dumpster. Am I bound by this contract? If not, how do I get them to remove the equipment?

You need to take the contract to an attorney to review in its entirety.
