Payment of sick days
My employer laid me off on June 29, 2009. Am I entitled to receive payment of my sick days for the year?

Yes, most likely you are entitled to payment for unused personal and vacation time.

It depends on your employer's policy. While Vacation time is typically going to be paid to you, many, if not most, companies do not pay employees for unused sick days.
