Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

i called a lock smith to help me with a lock that i got open before he got to my house. he was then called and told his services were not needed. 15 min later i get a call stating that i owe him for a service fee and it was from a different number other than the one i called. so would i still have to pay the service fee or should i take it to court

Difficult to answer without more details, but it would appear that you asked for services, the locksmith headed out, and then you cancelled on him. Heck, maybe he was out to dinner with his family and had to cut it short. How much he is entitled to is hard to say, but I would think you owe him something. It is not the locksmith's fault you did not try to open the lock before you called him.
