In the state of Illinois, can a defendant be held in contept of court for not going to small claims court?

If you do not appear in court, the creditor may have a default judgment entered against for the full amount claimed on the complaint. With a judgment, the creditor may seize assets to pay for the debt. In some situations, you may be held in contempt for certain court appearances whereby a warrant would be issued for you.
