Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

My ex-wife died in December. We have two kids together ages 19 and 16 who live with me. After our divorce 10 years ago she bought a condo. The condo association has sent a collection letter from an attorney to my address titled unknow Heirs & Legates of "wife's name" attempting to collect the debt from us. Since I my ex bought the condo with the proceeds from the divorce, I am not on any of the paperwork, and my kids at the time were minors. Is there any legal basis for us being liable for this debt? If not can I tell the collection company to "nicely go away", without any recourse coming back to me?

You and the kids are not personally liable for the assessments. You should investigate wheter there is any equity in the condo. If there is you should find out if you ex had a will.If she did not, then you should discuss this issue with an attorney so your kids can receive heir inheritence/
