Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

I received a default judgement through civil court against a person who attacked me. He was convicted in criminal court of assault with a deadly weapon (vodka bottle),and then lost the subsequent civil case. I'm having a hard time collecting from said individual. What are my options, what should I be doing?

In addition, this person was only 21 years old when the judgement was declared. If his parents had been declaring him as a dependent at the time of the judgement, can I collect through them? If so, how can I find out whether or not he was indeed declared a dependent at that time?

Looking for guidance on how to expedite this process in order to collect what I'm owed.

You have to do a supplemental proceeding to collect on the Judgment. Only the defendant is responsible to pay you on the judgment since he is the only person you sued.
