Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Illinois

Telecheck

I removed my special needs daughter from daycare owing the center money. I did this becuase I was not satisfied with the care they provided for her. Instead of accepting a payment arrangement, they opted to report me to telecheck and now I can no longer write personal checks at stores that use telecheck. I owe the center money but I NEVER presented them with a bad check. Can they do this?
