Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

17 year old and drug charges

my 17 year old son was caught with marijuana, paraphanalia, and 6 16 year old. He is being charged with possession and contributing to minors. I know we need legal help. Just want to know how much we have to do or spend.

Re: 17 year old and drug charges

Your son has charges that could include up to a year in jail. The costs of legal defense can vary greatly depending upon the case, and without knowing all the facts of the case and assessing the consequences of specific outcomes for your son it would be impossible to give you an estimate of your son's legal defense expenses. You did not mention how much marijuana your son is being charged with possessing. This information and other information would be necessary for any attorney to be able to give you any idea at what you are looking at in expenses and potential outcomes. If your son's case is somewhere that I practice regularly, I might be able to help you, and if not, I might be able to refer you to someone. Please feel free to call me for a free telephone consultation.
