Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

i was sitting in my car parked with the car cut off.the police came up the one way pulled me out the car and searched me. at that time they found less than 30 grams of canibis. i told them to get my purse with the money in it it was me and my grandmothers money i didn't know how much was there. in the purse was also weed bags now they have my money under investigation. what do i do

It sounds as though there may be something called a motion to quash arrest and suppress evidence in your case. If that is successful, it will also result in the release of your money. This may be the best manner to deal with your criminal case and the possible loss of your money.

The search and seizure of you and your car may have been made in violation of your right prohibiting unreasonable search and seizures. The State is taking the position that the money found is your purse is drug proceeds. You need to discuss your case with a lawyer. Please call if you would like to discuss.
