Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Expunge

In March 2003 I was arrested for Reckless Conduct. On June 17, 2003 after a plea of guilty, a fine of $100.00 and 1 year court supervision this case was filed. I have not had any encounters with the law enforcements, not even a walking violation! Is this Class C Misdermenor fall under the bylaws of expunge?

Re: Expunge

A conviction for Reckless Conduct cannot be sealed, it may however be expunged off of your arrest record. A petition for expungement for reckless conduct can be made 2 years after the last date of your supervision. It costs $60 to file it and then $40 later on for the Illinois Police. If you cannot afford the fees, you can ask the court to pay them for you. Once a judge agrees to waive your fees, you may file for expungement or sealing without paying for it.
