Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Hello, A person who makes products for our company was arrested on what he claims was a drug warrant from 1998. I would have expected the statute of limitations would prevent him from being charged with such an old offense. Is it possible that he was actually arrested for this ancient charge? He was arrested in Illinois, if that matters.

It is definitely possible that your employees was charged with this drug arrest so long ago. When a warrant is issued the warrant is open until it is executed. The statute of limitations is on hold while the warrant is active.
