Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

Over the weekend my neighbor"s kid who is 14 was being a real problem for my family. The single mom was not home at 10:30pm. So after a day of harasment from this kid I finally had enough and chased him off our drive way, which btw we share a drive way so our side entry doors face each other. In this process I sliped on the ice and fell into their door resulting in some damage to the door jam. Now they want to press "breaking and entering" charges. This doesnt seem right. Someone help. Illinois.

It is my understanding that your neighbors have not called the police and filed a "report" yet?

That would mean that the cops have not talked to you yet. if your neighbors are trying to intimidate you, I would pay them no mind.

Don't worry about matters unless you are charged with a crime.

If you are charged by the state you will most likely be at the Wheaton court house.

This does not sound like criminal "breaking and entering" to me. If you are charged with a crime, hire an attorney and you should be able to defend the charge.
