Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Illinois

I was referred to a doctor by my family doctor. I made an appointment with the doctor's office and they said that they accepted my insurance. When I got there I checked in and was sent to a room to await the Dr. 30 minutes pass and I ask the nurse does the dr. know I'm here she says yes I will go and remind him. He sees two patients across the hall from (I know this because he greeted them with his name). Another 30 mins passes by and I ask another nurse. She goes to ask him and none of these nurses came back with a reply. I asked one more nurse and to my surprise she goes to the room right next to mine and she asks and he states "let her fucking sit and wait". can I sue for this rude behavior? what should I do I left the office in tears after hearing that remark I spoke to the supervisor and explained to her that I have been dealing with my illness for over 12 years and was finally given a proper diagnosis and it's an embarassing thing so I was so hurt and discouraged everyone saw me cry including my two children that were with me and that also had another affect on me. I really want to sue for the embarassment and for my time being wasted. I feel that they should have scheduled the apt with another doctor if they knew this one didn't like dealing with patients who have my insurance. The supervisors only remark was that he was a jerk and she scheduled me with another dr. at a later date. What can I do?

You raised the issue of your insurance--what leads you to believe you were treated poory because of your type of insurance? From what you have described, I don't see much recourse other than filing awritten complaint with the clinic and also with the Dept. Of Professional Regulation.
