When a couple divorces and they have 3 children, one living with dad and two with mom how is child support determined?

Usually, there is a set-off of Dad's obligation (assuming Dad is the greater wage earner), against 20% of Mom's net income. Assuming all children were to live with Mom then Dad would pay Mom 32% of his net income. With two children living with Mom, his obligation would be 28% and Mom would owe him 20% of her net without consideration of the support she will be receiving. This is not hard and fast but is one of many ways this can be done. A lot depends on the relative income of the parties.
