Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Help! I went to court today regarding college expenses for my daughter. The judge stated that I needed to amend petition to show break down in college cost. What does she mean by amend petition? Should I add to the original motion or file a new one that shows the cost break down?

Thanks,

Chicago

If today's order did not state that you were granted leave (Must be in writing), you must file a motion to amend asking permission (Liberally granted), presuming your petition wasn't struck. If your petition was struck, depending on why, you may be allowed to refile Read the Peterson case, recent Illinois Supreme Court Case - or better yet, have an attorney handle this for you so you don't have to keep coming back to court over technicalities.
