Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I have a divorce petition mailed to me not certified with no case number do I have to respond? Do not either have a case number in courts either!

Without a case number is possibly is not filed yet. There may be a caption indicating the court where is has or will be filed. You can call the Clerk of the Court and see if the case has been filed or not. You do not have to respond unless and until you have been served with the summons.
