Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My ex-husband retired in April. I am receiving child support by means of Social Security. That child support is about $300.00 per month higher than what I was getting. My ex has almost one million dollars in pension and 401k. He took his pension in a lump sum payment of $420,000.00.

He has that in some type of savings account and is taking about $3500.00 out per month for expenses. He is claiming that I am not entitled to any of that money as child support because of a stipend. My attorney says he is wrong and that I am entitled to 25% of what he takes out monthly. Please help me!
