Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

im still legally married to my husband, although we haven't lived together for years. We are still good friends, hug, talk on the phone and say we still love each other but because of our children thought it best to live separate. Now He was in a motorcycle accident and on Life support and his son says I have to get permission to see Him. If He wakes up He isn't going to be happy with the way they are acting towards me and the Hospital lied and told me at first He wasn't a patient. My question is what are my rights?

Until a judge enters a Judgment for Dissolution of Marriage, you are still legally married; regardless of the fact that you live separate and apart. You have the same rights and responsibilities of any wife. You might have to go to court to try to be appointed your husband's guardian.
