Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I purchased my home 2 years before getting married. My spouse was never put on the title or mortgage. We divorced less than 6 years later. In the divorce it stated that I got the home and that my former spouse waived all rights of homestead. I listed my home a couple of months after the divorce was finalized and now my former spouse is stating they have homestead rights and deserve half of the equity in the home that I purchased before the marriage. I thought the waiver in the divorce decree took those rights away.

It did. The property issues have been dealt with. Your former spouse has no interest in the property if your judgment says what you say it says.
