Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

i recently spent time with my nieces and nephew ages 10 and under and there are strong signs of neglect and sexual abuse..My question is this while the children are in my care do i have the legal right to take them to a doctor and have them checked for sexual abuse?

Hello. Yes. You also have a duty, as a relative, to report your suspicions to the police. This is a very serious matter and it is in the best interest of your young relatives that you report this abuse. You may want to even seek custody of the children as guardian.
