RE: Wedding Ring: A woman decides she no longer wants to be married after a year and 1/2 of marriage and says she wants a divorce. She gives her wedding ring back to her husband. She leaves the home, takes their 3-month old son and moves out of the county. Several weeks later she asked for the ring back as she leads him to believe that she will return to their home. He gives her the ring for the second time. However, returning to the marriage does not happen. So for the second time she gives the wedding ring back to the husband, and in so doing damages the ring stompping on it with her foot and gives it to the husband. The husband takes the ring gets it fixed at a cost of $100 to repair. Since the ring was not totally paid for (Cost $4,000) , he returns it to the creditor who lent him the money. After six months , the husband files for divorce. Now, she is demanding to have the ring back and still wants to go forward with the divorce. Does he by law have to return the ring to his soon to be X?
