Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

My boss was caught on camera touching me inappropriately. My manager reported him to HR, and started the ball rolling for filing sexual harassment claim. I met with our district ma nager yesterday who told me it was best I transfer to another store while investigating. I feel this is highly unfair. They have plenty of floater staff that can cover his position. I feel like its not being taken seriously so far. When is legal action necessary?
