Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Illinois

Need to File Amended Complaint. What is it?

Have been to court on two separate occasions. Was told I needed to file an Amended Complaint. Wrote on paper listing the the reason for Complaint and the action taken. Was told this was not sufficient and I needed to submit an Amended Complaint! Without this, my case is not being heard at all. I have been before the judge on three separate occasions and am afraid this final time, without this Amended Complaint, my case will be thrown out. Please advise!

Re: Need to File Amended Complaint. What is it?

You should type or write on a sheet of

paper the heading of your case and then type "Amended Complaint." After

doing this you need to make certain

that your complaint explains all the

facts of your case in detail and then

you should explain the relief that you

are seeking from the court. For

instance, if you are filing a suit

for damages, you should set forth the

amount of damages that you are seeking. You should then sign your

amended complaint and underneath your

signature, provide your address, and

phone number.
