over time at work

our hotel will let you work over time but pay straight time or not at all is that legal and will not give raises even after 5 yrs.

If you are non-exempt employee (i.e., a person who must be paid overtime), then your employer is required to pay you overtime pay (one and one half times your regular rate of pay)for all time you work in excess of 40 hours per week. You cannot "agree" to not be paid overtime.

Unfortunately, there is no law that requires you to receive raises.

I would get to an employment attorney as soon as is possible. Normally the suit to collect overtime can only go back two years (sometimes three), so everyday you wait is a day of overtime that cannot be collected.
