Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

I recently purchased a mobile home,paid cash w/no money owed. The previous owner left w/o paying her unpaid back rent for the lot. My app was approved but i was told tht I cannot ign a lease because the previous owner hasn't paid their back rent...can they do tht?

Probably, if you cut a deal with the previous owner of the mobile home but failed to contact the lot owner prior to closing your transaction.
