garbage cans

Is there a law regarding garbage cans near living are ie they must be kept in garage I live in a townhome they are telling they must be kept in garage and not outside

Look at your townhome association rules and declarations. There is probably something in there referencing garbage cans. If there is no reference to garbage cans, then look at the town or city ordinances for the town, city or village that you live in.

Typically, where you can leave a garbage can are set forth in the covenants or by-laws of the HOA.
