Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I am a jt. tenant with my mother. She wants to cede her claim to our property to me.I have been the sole occupant for the last 10 years. I am responsible for all bills. She is joint owner in name only. Now she wishes to have her name taken off the title. I wanted to use quit claim. Do I have to fill out a tax transfer if all other info remains the same? I am in Illinois and she lives in another state.
