Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I am the only one on the loan for a home that I purchased but my ex girlfriend is listed as a joint tenant. I have just recently received a foreclosure notice and believe that she may be stripping the property. She is saying that I cannot enter the home to take some picture and have a look to see if she is indeed stripping this property. Can she legally stop me from doing so?

You are like partners when it comes to ownership. You technically have as much right to enter the home as she does but police may not help and even if they did it might only be a one-time entry that would not be a permanent solution. You may wind up having to go to court to stop her and sue for damages, but much more information would be needed to proceed wisely.
