Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Property Ownership/Sales

I own as ''tenants in common'' about 26 acres in Bond County, Il. No house, just timber. It was left to my two brothers and one sister and myself by our parents. I want to sell, however, I have to sell to them first. How can I do this if it's not sectioned off or there is nothing that says ''who owns what''? The only way they listed it was as way overpriced because they truly do not want to sell it. I do not like the liability issues nor the way that nobody uses it . It sets there for partiers. What can I do?

Re: Property Ownership/Sales

You may want to agree with your siblings to buy you out. If they agree then sell to them for 1/4 of the value. Otherwise, you could file a partition suit, and force a sale in court. Seek the advice of an attorney in your area. This answer is not to be construed as legal advice, but merely a limited answer to a limited question. Good luck.
