Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I purchased a new (older) home and have had several issues with the plumbing since moving in. We had the ceilings scraped to remove the old popcorn texturing which has revealed several areas that have been repaired or have had water damage covered over. Our home inspection did not find any issues in the plumbing and I'm wondering if I can take legal action against the inspection company or the previous owner for not disclosing all of these problems? The latest issue is a bad drain below the master shower that has leaked and saturated the ceiling ;in our office which is in the same location as some of the hidden damage I mentioned above.

Hello. Yes. You do have the option of bringing legal action against the home inspection company. This is a very serious matter and certainly it would be appropriate to file a lawsuit.
